| Take
a trip on the adventurous waterways of the Gauley
River in West Virginia as you raft down roaring rapids
through beautiful mountains and clean fresh air.
This
is a very popular trip worldwide with its big rapids
ranging from casual paddling to heart-thumping rapids
and much more. This trip fills up fast so first-pay,
first served.
Rafting
is on Sunday, September 22nd, so plan on taking
Friday off from work for traveling. First-Come
(pay), First-Served!
Saturday, Sept 20
We will be arriving in West Virginia at the campsite around 9am to 6pm. Then
we
have
the
entire
day
to
visit
the
New
River
Gorge,
swim in Summersville Lake, go for a bike ride, hike along the trails, rock climbing, go horseback riding,
gather/buy firewood (A MUST) or just set up a hammock and chill out the whole
day. We'll head on out to the rafting center around 7pm and
watch
the
sunset
in
the
mountains!

Sunday,
September 21 - Raft time is 8:30a
6:00a Wake up and have hearty, robust
breakfast to fuel ourselves for the day.
7:30a Head over to the raft center to get
ready for the trip: fill out forms, shop, see videos
and all that preparatory stuff.
8:30a We load up and head to the drop off
point. We raft downstream and have lunch on the river.
5:00p We'll get back to the raft center around
6:00-ish. We hang out with raft guides, watch videos
of the trip & buy photographs/videos of the trip.
CAMPFIRE: All of which is sure to fill
our
bellies
as we fill
the
air with laughter, stories
and songs. S'mores are a must!!!!
Monday,
Sept 22
Pack up the campsite and leave around 10am-12noon. Grab a lunch/dinner on the road.
Get home. Unpack, shower and take a long nap.
Equipment/Gear
Needed:
Yes, this is camping at a campground. Running water and bathroom/showers at
campsite. So you are going to need a tent and camping equipment. If you do
not have the equipment, please contact Jeff Miller below and he will set you
up with the equipment. Cabins available for rental for those non-tenters
set up through the rafting center.
There will be items for sale at the rafting center to those who want souvenirs, photos, videos, clothing, etc. So plan your $$$ accordingly.
